I move across UX/UI, branding, visual design, and art direction because the best design problems don't stay in their category, so why should I?
A logo needs to think like an interface. An interface needs to feel like a brand. A campaign needs a strong enough idea to survive being stretched across every format it touches and someone has to hold that thread the whole way through. That's usually me.
Six years in, I've stopped apologizing for the range. I'm just paying attention to the whole picture, because the user doesn't experience your brand and your interface separately.
